There will be plenty of responsibilities. You’ll make sure everyone’s achieving high levels of service at all times. It’s all about optimum operational efficiency, with minimal costs. You’ll also lead recruitment and oversee performance. And keeping a close eye on health and safety, you’ll authorise the most efficient use of vehicles and determine delivery schedules. Unusually, your time is split between two key areas – professional driving together with loading and unloading deliveries. So it’s a lot more physical than typical Driver roles as only 40% of the time is actually spent driving. You’ll understand the need to optimise space and minimise any loss. And, sometimes, you might need to work with store or warehouse colleagues, so safety (of our people, customers and products) is a big priority for you.
We couldn’t operate without you, so we’ll pay for your Driver Certificates of Professional Competence (CPC). Other companies might expect you to do the training in your own time, but we don’t. We’ll make sure you have that time in your working hours.

As one of the Gatehouse Security Guards, you’re responsible for the overall security of our Regional Distribution Centre.
You’ll be required to check external delivery vehicles as they enter and leave site. Although the majority of your time will be spent within our Gatehouse, you’ll also conduct full site checks on a daily basis.

Part of a friendly team, you’ll report any unsightly or unsafe defects in the transport area. You’ll be operating fork lift trucks, checking that pallets go on the right lorry, reporting any equipment faults, keeping the vending machines well stocked and ensuring that the workplace is clean and tidy. So there’s plenty to keep you busy.

As one of our Apprentices, you won’t be sitting on the side-lines watching our Drivers do a great job. We’ll train you from the very beginning, helping you obtain the necessary licences so we can get you out on the road.
With help from your mentor, you’ll master those tricky three-point turns in a HGV, and learn how to load those pallets nice and evenly. It’s not just getting from A to B as efficiently as possible. It’s about having real responsibility and feeling part of a team that supports you, all the way. Plus, with a mix of on-the-job training and theory work, you’ll gain invaluable qualifications throughout the programme.
