Our Warehouse Operations Apprenticeship Programme

This Level 2 programme gives you a rare insight from some of the industry’s most talented people. You’ll learn all about how our products get from suppliers to our customers’ shopping baskets, and work your way towards a Level 2 Supply Chain Operative qualification.

It’s a fascinating process, with lots going on, but you’ll discover all the techniques to take on this rewarding challenge. And, with a structured career path, you’ll be well on the way to becoming a success within our business.

A programme like no other

Day One

We don’t hang around at Aldi, and neither will you. So from the moment you start, you’ll be straight to it, signing your contracts, meeting your Assessor and completing all the paperwork to enrole onto your qualification.

Year one – Level 2 Supply Chain Operative

Focusing on your Level 2 Supply Chain Operative qualification, you’ll get to grips with our Warehouse operation, complete theory work and have regular reviews with your Assessor.

Safety First

Employee welfare is key, so we’re razor sharp about health, safety and security. From taking action if there’s an incident, to using emergency equipment correctly, you’ll learn how to keep yourself and everyone around you nice and safe.

Theory Work

On top of your daily duties, you’ll also have to complete theory work. But don’t worry, while you might need to do a bit of revision later down the line, there’s very little you won’t have learnt from doing the job.

We roll up our sleeves together

Developing great relationships with colleagues is vital to an efficient and successful business. It’s about knowing when to help, when to ask others for a hand, and building plenty of trust in those around you.

Pick, Wrap and Pack

Here, you’ll learn the incredibly important job of picking goods that are ready for dispatch. You’ll then wrap and pack them, ensuring they end up where they’re supposed to be. In perfect condition.

Behind the Warehouse Operations wheel

You can’t carry everything. Which is why you’ll learn how to use special Warehouse Operations equipment to move goods. And we’ll teach you how to lift, transfer and settle goods to perfection (and safely, of course).

On top of stock

Stock levels are the lifeblood of retail. Too much, and you’ll waste a lot. Too little, and our customers won’t find what they need. Which is why we’ll show you how to do inventory checks, and stay on top of stock levels and records.

The right tools for the task

You’ll learn how to operate equipment within Warehouse Operations, which could be mobile or fixed. It’s not just about knowing what bit of kit to use, but how to operate it safely and pack it away when you’re done.

Quarterly Review

Every three months, you’ll meet up with your Section Leader, Warehouse Operations Manager and Assessor. Again, this is just to make sure you’re on track and performing well.

Progress Review

On top of Assessor visits and Quarterly Reviews, you’ll also have Progress Reviews. Less formal than a Quarterly Review, they’re there to give you constant feedback about how you’re doing.

Graduation

Graduation is just the start of your amazing Aldi career. You’ll now be given the chance to move into a permanent position within the team – where you’ll begin to discover even more exciting opportunities.

Our application Process

1

Online application

We like to keep things nice and straightforward. There’s an online application form to highlight your key skills and experience. Once you’ve submitted your application, our recruitment team will screen your answers. If you are successful at this stage, you’ll then be invited to the next stage of the process.

Individual interview or group assessment

Your Individual Interview or Group Assessment will take place at the Regional Distribution Centre. You'll be asked a series of questions and scenarios relating to the job role you have applied for.
3

Aldi experience

Finally, you’ll take part in the ‘Aldi Experience’ where you’ll discuss the personal strengths you can bring to the role, and gain an insight into what working at Aldi’s really like.
